Re:Water Run Launches in UK Schools

Schools across the UK are taking on an exciting new challenge this Spring and Summer, teaming up with sustainable bottled water brand Re:Water for a ‘1k for £1k’ initiative.
This innovative campaign encourages schools to get active while raising vital funds, and primary schools in Surrey, Berkshire, and Herefordshire are among the first to participate.
The initiative is being spearheaded by Re:Water’s directors who are passionate about promoting health, fitness, and sustainability within the community.
Taking place across the coming months, the challenge encourages pupils, teachers, and families to work together to run, roll, and walk to cover a total distance of 1,000km in a month.
If they succeed in reaching their target, Re:Water will generously donate £1,000 to each participating school and award each pupil with a Re:Water Run medal, made from aluminium.
To achieve this goal, children will bring in their trainers daily and be encouraged to run or walk laps of their school’s track or playground during lunchtime and class activities.
Schools will also provide opportunities for families and teachers to contribute to the total distance outside regular school hours, with some schools opening their fields after school.
Re:Water co-founder Matt Crocker said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for communities to come together, stay active, and support our schools. Not only will the Rewater Run promote health, fitness, sustainability, and wellbeing through inclusive activities but it will also raise valuable funds for much-needed resources to support pupils and teachers.”
The scheme will be running at schools across the UK throughout the Spring term and will be expanded to more schools next year.
